About Dr. Sumeet Karna
Dr. Sumeet Karna is a Consultant Urologist with MBBS, MRCSEd (Surgery), and FCPS (Urology) qualifications, practising at Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi, Nepal. With over 13 years of clinical experience and more than 3300 urological procedures performed, he is recognized for his expertise in endourology, kidney stone surgery, prostate surgery, pediatric urology, and minimally invasive urological care for both adults and children.
His practice includes a wide spectrum of procedures such as super-mini PCNL (SMP), mini-PCNL (mPCNL), ureteroscopic stone surgery (URS), TURP, TURBT, urethral reconstruction, and laparoscopic urology. He has also been trained in flexible ureteroscopy (RIRS) and laser lithotripsy, and performs procedures based on the technology available at his center.
In uro-oncology, he provides surgical management for selected kidney and bladder tumors, including laparoscopic radical nephroureterectomy, partial nephrectomy, TURBT, and diagnostic cystoscopic biopsies.
Dr. Karna has undergone extensive training in minimally invasive urology with excellent exposure in endourology and stone surgery, and has helped start and strengthen urological services across multiple hospitals in Nepal.
He has authored 16+ peer-reviewed publications, is actively involved in clinical research, and serves as a peer reviewer for various national and international medical journals.
